1672 Holy BIBLE New Testament French Jesuit Gaspard Migeot Daniel Elzevier

A rare Elzevier French New Testament Bible translated out of the Vulgate. This 1672 edition was published by Daniel Elzevier, who revised and edited this Bible. The name ‘Migeot’, which appears on the title pages, is that of a Gaspard Migeot – a Jesuit bookseller who wanted to gain recognition for his work. (Willems 1389). This edition was the final printing that was granted privilege by Migeot. This two-part Bible features a frontispiece of the art of de Champagne.
