Description
**First Time At Auction**

East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1270 CE. A gorgeous glazed sky blue Southern Song Qingbai bowl with an exquisite, combed abstract floral pattern. This item was made at the San Hu kilns in Jingdezhen, in southeastern China. Qingbai ware is arguably the first mass-produced type of porcelain, used mostly for burial wares and exports. The distinctive color of the glaze is a result of using pine wood as fuel in the kilns, creating a reducing atmosphere. Size: 6.7" W x 2.3" H (17 cm x 5.8 cm)

Provenance: private Hong Kong, China collection
