**First Time At Auction**

Central Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A cast bronze figure of an ibex, stylized but unmistakable with its huge, curving, spiral-shaped horns. The body is textured with leaf-shaped motifs in horizontal stripes down its body. The animal's thin legs are attached to two gently curved strips of bronze, each pierced at both ends by drilled holes for attaching it to something - perhaps a cart with wheels, as this may have been a toy. The nose also has a loop, presumably for attaching a rope to pull it. Size: 4.1" L x 2.6" W x 5.1" H (10.4 cm x 6.6 cm x 13 cm)
