Repousse by Kirk 2 Piece Sterling Silver Custom Made Cheese Serving Set. The Cheese Knife with pick measures approimately 7 1/2" and the cheese cleaver measures about 6 1/2". Hollow handle custom made pieces are usually not stamped due to their hollow construction. All hollow handle custom pieces are thoroughly inspected and tested prior to shipping and are guarenteed sterling. All custom orders are made to order and usually ship within 5 to 7 business days.
The Repousse pattern is the oldest sterling silver pattern produced in the United States. The Repousse pattern was created by Samuel Kirk using an ancient technique known as "Repousse" to created a beautiful floral embossed design.
The Stieff Company, located in Baltimore, Maryland, was founded in 1892 and became known as Kirk-Stieff in 1979. It is renowned for the quality and value of its silver products, along with its elegant hand-chasing and Repoussé work. Its most well-known pattern, introduced in 1892, is Maryland or Stieff Rose.
