This very popular poster is part of the Bill Graham Presents series and dates from October 1987. Herb Greene gets the credit for the fantastic photograph of Garcia, and the poster design was by Arlene Owseichik. This poster was printed twice prior to the show—one version for advertising the show, and one for sale at the event. The only difference is the tiny overlapping boxes in the corners. On the show version, they are silver; on the promotional version, they are white. This piece is from the show version.
