The work tells of funny reviews about Naples and its territory, drawing a profile about its inhabitants, such as their hospitality or Naples women, and then proceeding to describe the two famous archeological areas in its territory, such as Paestum and Pompeii. Joseph Hippolyte of Santo Domingo, a French historian, was also author of a similar work focusing instead on Rome and its territory.
