Orpheus, the Largest Table Disc Musical Box, c. 1898
Manufactured by "Musikwerke Orpheus, Ludwig & Co. KG". For Ø 225/8-inch discs, 216 teeth in duplex comb (complete), polished walnut case with inlaid lid, size 35 ½ x 28 x 12 ¼ in., cast-bronze handles, with 26 excellent discs, very good original condition, full rich sound. Extremely rare, the only example of this musical box we have seen to date. An important museum piece! On matching base cabinet with lateral disc storage compartment. Overall height 40 in.
