Biedermeier drop front desk, secretaire abattant, inlaid detail, bronze mounds, Egyptian revival heads, elaborate inlaid multi drawer interior with center mirrored back inlaid plateau flanked by alabaster columns, from the castle of Emperor Franz Joseph 1st of Austria.
Cabinet is 62.25" tall, 42.25" wide and 18" deep. Note, this cabinet, and other items in this sale are from the Rabo family, descendants of Gyula Rabo, state forester for Emperor Franz Joseph. Gyula Rabo and his wife Margit Radich, daughter of the palace architect, these items, and the other items are part of the family's oral history.
