Description
Rare Mat glaze vase with hand modeled band of six rooks on the bottom third of the vase, most likely the work of William Hentschel, produced in 1913 and covered with dark over light blue mat glazes. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date and shape 951 C, which is listed in the shape record book as a plain vase. We've seen a few of these hand modeled pieces from this time period and Hentschel is the most likely artist. There is faint overall crazing. Height is 10 3/4 inches.
