Description
A very seldom seen map of New York City as it was in the mid 1700s, largely composed of lower Manhattan. In this higly detailed map streets, individual buildings and houses, orchids, port, etc are depicted. Sixty sites are specifically identified, and 13 of those are pictorially represented including Fort George (in the Battery), Half Moon Battery, City Hall, multiple churches, starting with the Lutheran Church, and religious meeting houses and the poor house. First printing in 1813.

Very Good. Age toning in this uncolored map. Tear (3 in.) in lower portion near margin twice repaired (one to remove ametour cellophane tape repair). Issued folds.
