Contemporary Beauvais style Chinoiserie tapestry after a design by Guy Louis Vernansal (French, 1648-1729 titled 'The Emperor on a Journey,' depicting a fanciful Continental impression of the Chinese Emperor, K'ang Xi, carried in a carpet-covered chaise during a procession, overall dimensions 90"h x 64"w, with 80"w hanging rod. One of the originals of this particular taptestry currently resides in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
