Fabulous Green Wing Teal decoy by unknown maker but plainly an accomplished artist, has a Gus Wilson flare, probably a Maine bird in origin. This diminutive decoy measures 11"L x 3 3/4\"W x 5 3/8""H. Features include original glass eyes, head is mortised into the body, and a large old 20 penny nail is recessed into the flat bottom, secured with old iron staples. The staple tie eye is still present. There are no visible structural cracks though this little bird shows normal in-use scuff, maybe a bit of over-paint scattered over bird but lots of original paint remains. This could be the “sleeper” of the auction as consignor stated he has owned the bird for over 40 years and was purchased in New England. $300-600 (GOA-11200)
