Description
Elvis Presley Unused Original Aug. 21, 1977 Hartford Civic Center Concert Ticket (The Tour That Never Was) Framed W/Photo & Autograph - This piece is an unused original Elvis Presley "Ticketron" concert ticket. The ticket is for a show at the Hartford Civic Center in Conneticut, and is dated August 21, 1977. The ticket was unfortunately never able to be used, as this twelve date tour was scheduled to begin on August 17, 1977 and Elvis tragically passed away on August 16th. Tickets from this "Tour That Never Was", are highly sought after by collectors, and while these tickets were available for as little as $12.50 at the time of the tour, they can now trade for thousands of dollars. The ticket is in excellent condition, and has been framed in a presentation along with a photo of Elvis and an autograph given by him. The photograph was taken at Elvis' 1965 New Haven, Connecticut concert, where he also signed the autograph. The lot will come with a copy of the story from the original owner, about that New Haven concert. The frame measures approx. 8.5" x 10". Elvis Presley (1935-1977) was an American singer and actor. He was considered the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, and is often referred to as "The King of Rock and Roll" or "the King". Presley is one of the best-selling solo artists in the history of recorded music, with estimated record sales of around 600 million units worldwide. He won three Grammys, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and has been inducted into multiple music halls of fame.
