xvi, 343 pp. Photogravure frontispiece portrait of John Weston Brooke, 2 folding maps at rear, plus many photograph plates. (8vo) original green cloth, pictorially decorated, top edge gilt. First Edition.

Account of the two journeys into Tibet by Lieutenant John Weston Brooke, F.R.G.S., 1906-7 and 1907-8, the second ending when he was cruelly murdered in the Independent Lolo Land. Based on Brooke's diary and photographs, and the relation of C.H. Meares, who accompanied Brooke on his second trip.

Condition

Binding lightly worn; old dampstain to maps and a few leaves at rear, one map torn; good.
