Description
An attractive Chinese ceramic figure of a guard, Northern Wei Dynasty, AD 386 - 534, standing at attention and wearing long robes, a shield in his left hand and a hole in his right hand where a weapon, presumably made of wood, would have been place. H: 9 5/8 in (24.4 cm). Well-preserved with much original paint remaining with light deposits. Ex Malter Galleries, CA.
