Item Details
Description
Tribal Ushak Wool Woven Pile Rug, center pole medallion in grey, pale blue and orange tones, red surround, borders with rows of floral geometric patterns in red, orange, and lime green [ACGQ8126] (MM)
Dimensions: 3'-8" x 5'-0"
Provenance: From the estate of Amy and the late Art Cooper, Manhattan and Candlewood Lake CT. Art Cooper, October 15, 1937 – June 9, 2003, was the legendary transformative editor-in-chief of GQ magazine. A force of nature, US Navy veteran, a proud Penn State graduate and an esteemed regular at Manhattan's The Four Seasons Restaurant , Art Cooper was also a serious admirer and collector of Ernest Hemingway and of fountain pens, mysteries and histories, celebrities, the giants of American sport, and most important perhaps, the circle of American writers whom he nurtured throughout his distinguished career. Our thanks to his widow Amy, a prominent editor in her own right at magazines like Mademoiselle, for the opportunity to offer the public a glimpse into the life of this extraordinary figure.
