A PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL BIDJAR RUG, NORTHWESTERN IRAN, LATE 20TH CENTURY, Herati design with stylized floral decorated elongated hexagonal fields, that at the center in aquamarine bordered by red ground field with knotted "fringe," centering a navy blue with linear and zigzag border, next a repeated red ground field with triangular aquamarine fields at the inner corners, the main border with navy blue ground centering acanthus leaves and stylized floral blossoms, flanked by four part secondary border, one with tan ground and floral meander, the next with aquamarine ground and medallions, the next a repeat of the tan ground meander, and the outermost with red and green leaves on an ivory ground, with cotton foundation, approximate 121 kpsi. 12' 8" x 9' 10"

In overall good general condition with no evidence of recoloring, reweaving, or restoration, colors bright with minimal fading.
