Description
A PAIR OF DIRECTOIRE STYLE CARVED BIRCH CONSULAR SIDE CHAIRS, MID/LATE 19TH CENTURY, PROBABLY FRENCH, the scrolled tablet crest rail over a rectangular anthemion relief carved splat above a horizontal rail, over a trapezoidal leather upholstered seat with nail head trim, on saber legs. Height: 33" Width: 18" Depth: 15 1/2" Provenance: Mallett at Bourdon House, London, England.
Condition
Some scratches, drip stains, various residues, and general expected surface wear throughout. Some interior joints with old glue residue, the leather some abrasive losses, and the dye faded on the leather, resulting in one brown colored seat and one green colored seat, but otherwise in sturdy, very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
