Pair of Austrian Silver-Mounted Glass Claret Jugs
fourth quarter 19th century, by Alexander Sturm, Vienna, each with a glass ovoid body cut with spiral flutes and wheel-engraved rococo cartouches, the neck mounted in a .800 silver collar (retaining traces of gilt) with rococo scroll handle, "duck's beak" spout and hinged, domed lid with flammiform finial.

Condition
In overall good condition, with no issues noted beyond light wear commensurate with age and use.
Glass in good shape, with no cracks or repairs, though both jugs have some frits and chips along the sharp
edges of the spiral fluting. One jug marked (on the collar) with the third standard Viennese "Dianakopf"
and the "A.St." maker's mark of Alexander Sturm, the other unmarked.
