Description
An early Victorian 9ct gold hand painted portrait memorial pendant. Of oval outline, the exterior engine turned, the two hinged covers revealing to one side a hand painted portrait of a young lady with dark ringlets, to the other a glazed woven dark hair panel and a personal inscription, to the foliate surround. Length 4.5cms. Weight 12.7gms.
Condition
The condition of this lot is fair, the exterior with visible light and dark discoloured areas. The portrait is in good condition. The inscription reads 'WJ, died 9th September 1836, aged 17'. The glass and woven hair are in good clean condition. Condition reports are provided as a guide only and we recommend you inspect each lot in order to satisfy yourself as to their condition.
