American, early 20th century. A large and exquisite repousse sterling silver fruit bowl or footed round form decorated with roses, strawberries, flowers, leaves, and grape bunches. Underside marked "Sterling / The Loring Andrews Co. / Cincinnati U.S.A. / 121". Approximate height 7", diameter of top 11". Approximate weight 29 troy ounces. Provenance: From the Estate of Rita Shanton Granger, daughter of George Shanton, of Atlanta, Georgia. Note: Loring Andrews & Co. was an important silver and jewelry retailer located in Cincinnati, OH who sold flatware and holloware created by such companies as Kirk, Dominick & Haff, Durgin, Schultz & Co., Gorham, and others.
