The highly detailed map of the United States east of the Mississippi River from Cary's New Universal Atlas. Encompassing part of the Louisiana Territory and Upper and Lower Canada, the map is rich in details about Indian populations and settlements and forts in the Western Territory.
John Cary (1754-1835) was an English cartographer who is known for his maps, globes, and his atlas, The New and Correct English Atlas published in 1787, which became a standard reference work in England.
