Description
A set of 5 glassware with the US Presidential Seal from the decommissioned U.S.S. Williamsburg, which served as the presidential yacht during the presidencies of Truman and Eisenhower. Includes two wine glasses (5.5'' tall), one pint glass (6.5'' tall), one pilsner glass (9'' tall), and one cordial glass (5'' tall).
During the time of President Truman, Winston Churchill, Secretary of State George Marshall and other historic luminaries were entertained on trips around the Potomac, Bermuda, the US Virgin Islands and around the Chesapeake.
The U.S.S. Williamsburg remained the official presidential yacht from 1945 until it was decommissioned by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953 after only one trip.
