Printed by Harper and Brothers Publishing during Kennedy's run for the Presidency in 1960, the speeches contained within were delivered between 1956 and 1959; the topics range from the nuclear arms race to Vietnam, to the Middle East and China, as well as domestic issues. With its all-black cover and red and white lettering, this collection of speeches reveals the complexity of the yet to be President's thoughts on the troubling world he was about to become a major player in. Edited by historian Allan Nevins, The Strategy of Peace includes annotations by JFK and an interview with him by John Fischer.

An Inaugural Edition copy of Kennedy's 1957 Pulitzer Prize winning and best selling novel Profiles in Courage. At the behest of his wife, Kennedy penned this work while convalescing from back surgery that proved to be near fatal.

These items come directly from the Hirschy family. Lieutenant Hirschy was Supply and Logistics Officer for the Military Aides to the President and Officer-in-Charge of the Navy Mess in the White House during both the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. His duties also included taking care of the President’s needs on overseas trips, aboard the presidential yachts and at Camp David. Lt. Hirschy served in the White House from May 1, 1961 through May 31, 1965.
