Description
The thick potted jar having bulbous body to the rounded shoulder, short neck to wide opening, waisted to the flat base. The exterior delicately decorated around the exterior with variegate tones and shades of cobalt blue under glazed of phoenix among floral tendril set within Quatre-foil ruyi shaped petal form cartouches. The collar with floral motif interspersed with dense of scrolling tendrils.
The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel "ju-pi" (chu-p'i) or a chicken skin. The porcelain vase is displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.
The glazed stopping above the foot rim, reveal the pale-creme unglazed base.
Several dark-brown firing flaws spotted on the exterior's surfaces.
The underside left unglazed, displayed a pale-creme with orange hue and dark firing spots along with edge-cut on foot rim.
