Description
18th C. Pair of HuangHuaLi Chinese horseshoe back round arm chairs, QuanYi. Constructed with sweeping crest rail terminating in out swept hooks above the gracefully curved standing curved splat and the rear posts. Adorned with dragon reliefs within ruyi shaped cartouche on back splat. Beneath, the hard matt seat within the beaded, rectangular frame above shaped, beaded aprons and spandrels carved in the front with a conjoined leafy scroll, and plain, shaped aprons and spandrels on the sides and rear, the legs joined by stepped stretchers and the foot rest above plain, shaped aprons. Having dense hardwood and fine grain with lustrous patina, the HuangHuaLi wood displays a translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns appearing like ghost faces motif.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition. Some stress of wear. Natural wood imperfection, wood joint mark, minor scratches and dents. Normal consider ages and wears.
