2 quarter plate uncased daguerreotypes.

5 sixth plate daguerreotypes (1 full case, 2 split cases, half case, uncased) features a boy and girl arms around each other in need of new glass.

1 quarter plate ambrotype uncased, preserver only.

5 sixth plate ambrotypes (double case, full case, half case, dilapidated half case).

5 sixth plate tintypes (2 full cases, half case, 2 mat and preserver only).

1 mammoth tintype.

4 full plate tintypes (approximately 8½ X 6½ inches).

2 very small tintypes.

This is a generous donation from David R. Phillips, facilitated by Neil MacDonald of Rare Photo Gallery. Mr. MacDonald generously steered Mr. Phillips' collection to The Daguerreian Society rather than handle it himself. 100% OF THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE DAGUERREIAN SOCIETY.

David R. Phillips, a rescuer of forgotten studios, developed an innovative method for reproducing the negatives in his collection. Unparalleled, he is considered the foremost expert in his field. His work has been published in countless venues—including the 1974 monograph Taming the West: a photographic perspective—and curated a number of significant exhibitions, including a two-part show at the Art Institute of Chicago from his nineteenth century photo archive of Leavensworth, Kansas. Phillips is himself a skillful photographer, winning high honors in both state and national competitions.
