A rare first American edition of the ‘Life of John Wesley’ by Coke and Moore. Wesley was one of the most important Anglican theologians and is most remembered for helping found Methodism. Many of Wesley’s doctrines contrasted Whitefield’s Calvinism and promoted his theology in his evangelism and missions. Wesley was an advocate for Arminianism, which strongly opposes Calvinism.
This book deals with Wesley’s ministry, the society in which he worked, as well his work with Moravians in London as well as his sufferings in Georgia. It also covers Wesley’s return to England and his religious conversions and the progression of religion throughout Europe.
