Description
Southeast Asia, Burma, modern day Myanmar, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. Rare and quite desirable gilded bronze processional scene. Mounted upon an openwork platform, 4 attendants stand before the standing Buddha. Each carries an offering, and each wears a flowing robe. Buddha is identified by his tall ushnisha, hands in a teaching mudra. Small seated attendant to his rear. Size: 6.25" L x 4.75" H (15.9 cm x 12.1 cm)
