Description
1880 Arcana Coelestia Index Emanuel Swedenborg Mysticism FINE BINDING
“This I can declare: things that are in heaven are more real than things that are in the world.” ― Emanuel Swedenborg
Emanuel Swedenborg was an 18th-century Swedish philosopher and mystic known for his ideas and treatises on the afterlife. He claimed to have a spiritual awakening in which he received revelations by Jesus to reform Christianity. He claimed that with that interaction with Jesus, he was given the ability to freely visit both heaven and hell as well as talk with angels, spirits, and demons.
This book, ‘Arcana Coelestia’, would become Swedenborg’s most important and famous work and would in-turn be the basis for all of his subsequent writings. Swedenborg interpreted the Bible in a way that suited his views, particularly relating to symbolism. This three-volume set is just the Index from the work, however, it is still quite desirable and beautiful.
