Description
A Roman physician's cupping glass or alembic, 2nd - 3rd Century AD, with rounded bottom and rim, a long tapering spout extending from one side. A rare and interesting vessel which some scholars believe was used as a cupping vessel or an Alembic for distilling liquids. 2 1/2 in x 3 1/2 in (6.4 x 8.9 cm). Light deposits. Cf. Newark 248; Ex Charles Ede.
