Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in Chinaduring the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University. He was also appointed to various leadership positions in the Department of Education in the Nationalist government of the 1930s and 1940s.
