Description
A set of 3 calligraphies on paper attributed to Zhu Xi. Each has 5 characters, and 1calligraphy has 2 seals while the other 2 have 1 seal. Dimensions are 55 inches tall X 11 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: They are creased and torn.
Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in China during the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University. He was also appointed to various leadership positions in the Department of Education in the Nationalist government of the 1930s and 1940s.
