This is a very special and rare piece. An Ebenezer Coker candlestick is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Coker was a Silversmith working in London, England who began creating silver pieces in 1738. He died in 1783. According to an antique dealer, the maker's marks on this spoon indicate a production date of 1749, even though the spoon says 1748 and "IM" on the handle.
