Description
Isaac Bashevis Singer (1902-1991) Polish-American author and Raphael Soyer (1899-1987) Russian born painter. Isaac Singer published his first major novel, The Family Moskat, in 1950. Afterward, he wrote a string of acclaimed short stories, including Gimpel The Fool. In the 1960s, he wrote the The Spinoza of Market Street. In 1978, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Soyer is best known for his compassionate, naturalistic depictions of urban subjects. Their book, The Gentleman From Cracow The Mirror, The Limited Editions Club, 1979, (1185/2000) signed by both the author and illustrator on the limitation page. The book is contained within a slip-case that has some rubbing.
