Nicholas Biddle, (1786- 1844) Financier. Biddle, as president of the Second Bank of the United States (1823–36) made it the first effective central bank in U.S. history. He was President Andrew Jackson’s chief antagonist in a conflict (1832–36) that resulted in termination of the bank. 8 ¾” x 4”, partially printed, financial document, a sight draft, signed, Bank of the United States, January 28, 1837. The upper right corner is missing.
