Description
NATIVE AMERICAN / PLAINS INDIAN BEADED AWL CASES, LOT OF THREE, comprising a large older example with bands of beads "lazy" stitched to the conical case, and bands and squares to cover flap; and two Darwin DeCamp attributed examples with bands of beads to the case, long cover flap that splits into two "tails", with butterfly or star design to the main flap, and to the edges of tails, terminating in metal cones with red or orange tufts, and similar "tails" issuing from the bottom of the conical case. Large example most likely early to mid 20th century; DeCamp examples fourth quarter 20th century. Older example 10 1/4" L case, DeCamp examples 6" and 6 1/2" L cases, 19 1/2" and 21 1/2" LOA including "tails".
Excellent condition overall, DeCamp examples with no visible losses, older example with only one or two minute areas of bead loss.
