KEROUAC JACK: (1922-1969) American Author, a pioneer of the Beat Generation. Rare D.S., John L. Kerouac, being a signed cheque, Orlando, Florida, 23rd December 1961. The partially printed cheque, completed in Kerouac's hand, is drawn on the account of Gabrielle or John Kerouac at the College Park National Bank and is made payable to the Internal Revenue Service for the sum of $300. Signed by Kerouac in bold blue ink. Several bank cancellations do not affect the author's signature. VG The present cheque was drawn on a joint account operated by Kerouac and his mother, Gabrielle-Ange Levesque (1895-1973). Kerouac was living with his mother at the time of his death and she was to inherit the majority of his estate.
