Ca. 1880 French Swinging Cherub Mantel Clock by Eugene Farcot of Paris, alabaster case with ormolu trim, time only movement, gilt cherub on swing form pendulum (in 1862, Farcot patented this form of anchor escapement that swings back to front), Roman numerals on white enamel dial with opening for a partial view of the movement, round dial section set on oval pedestal raised on two alabaster columns, oval base and button feet, works stamped with Farcot's star, shield and anchor trademark and 'Fot Bte', also marked 'Chappement Brevete' and '33-18255', with key, 11 1/4" high, 7 1/4" x 5 1/2". Missing glass dome, small alabaster chips to clock head, clock has not been serviced.
