Chapman & Hall, London, 1870, Octavo, contemporary rebinding of half smooth calf, brown cloth, spine decorated in gilt with red titling piece, sprinkled red pag edges, light olive endpapers. pp (2, blank), (viii), 190, (2, blank) + frontispiece portrait (without tissue guard), illustrated half-title, and 12 plates. Offset darkening at edges of free endpapers, scattered light foxing, only mild wear to outer corners and spine tips, VG clean, tight and unworn copy otherwise, no owner names, text clean. Dickens' last novel, left incomplete at his death in 1870, and a landmark mystery novel.
