Mahogany R.J. Horner Winged Griffin Drop Front Desk. Full figural winged griffins supporting 2 over 3 drawers. The carved slant front section drops down, creating a writing surface and exposes the interior; hidden spring loaded drawer in the frieze, has heavily carved drawer fronts and relief panels on the front and the sides. Signed “R.J. Horner & Co., Furniture Makers” on a tag on the back; enhanced original finish, has a repair to the shoulder and tip of 1 wing. 46 in. High x 42 in. wide x 22 in. deep.
