200-48 BC. Obv: laureate head of Serapis right, wearing headdress of Isis. Rev: APAMEWN legend between the piloi of the Dioskuri, each surmounted by a star, all within laurel wreath. SNG von Aulock 3465 corr. (Zeus); BMC 32 corr. (ditto); Imhoof KM 8A corr. (ditto); SNG Cop. 160 corr. (ditto); Hoover HGC 671. See Wildwinds website (this coin). 5.07 grams. . Von Aulock, BMC and SNG Cop list the bust on the obverse as that of Zeus, but clearer images on specimens discovered since those catalogs were compiled show the headdress of Isis, thus attributing the bust to Serapis. [No Reserve]
