8th-7th century BC. An unglazed ceramic jug with low basal ring, globular body, trumpet-shaped neck with carination and pouring lip, round-section handle to the shoulder, concentric red rings and strokes to the shoulder. Cf. Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem, 1963 item 276. 977 grams, 29.5cm (11 1/2"). From a German collection; acquired on the German art market before 1990. [No Reserve]
