Description
1st-3rd century AD. A matched pair of earrings, each a round-section gold shank with tapering pin, returned end coiled about the shank with four pearl beads. See Marshall, F.H. Catalogue of the Jewellery, Greek, Etruscan and Roman, in the Department of Antiquities, British Museum, London, 1911 plate LIV for similar. 2.78 grams total, 20-22mm (3/4"). Property of an Alberta gentleman; formerly in a Canadian collection formed in the 1980s. [2]
