Paul Herzel was seven years old when his family immigrated to the United States settling in St. Louis, MO. As a young boy, he began drawing, painting scenery along the Mississippi River, and modeling clay, which he found along the riverbank. He passed in May of 1956 in New York City at the age of 79.''
