Roman, Imperial Period, Gallienus, ca. 253 to 268 CE. Antoninianus (2.75 g). Antioch, 263. Radiate and cuirassed bust r. R/ Hercules standing r., resting hand on hip, leaning on club set on rock. RIC V 672; RSC 1321. Size: 0.5" W (1.3 cm)

After his father Valerian I's capture by the Persians in 260 CE, Gallienus became the sole emperor - and never bothered to avenge his father or retrieve him.
