Item Details

Description

English, 20th century. A diminutive Campaign style mahogany kneehole desk, child's size, having an inset burgundy leather writing surface over a single long frieze drawer above two banks of three graduating drawers raised on turned feet. Approximate height 29.75", width 44", depth 23".

Condition

Leather insert with some wear and gapping at seams. Screws/nailheads visible on top. Backside panels to the banks with newer screws visible (see image #10). Five drawers lacking the locking mechanisms. Two locking mechanisms stamped "SECURE 4 LEVER" and "WARRANTED HANDMADE". Scattered chips, nicks to wood (see image #3). Drawers with staining and wear to interior (see image #9). Repairs/replacements to back blocks above turned feet.
