Description
Egypt, Late Dynastic period, Dynasty 26, ca. 664 to 525 BCE. A finely modeled ushabti in typical mummiform position. Taking a nearly white appearance with mummiform figure holding crook and flail, seed sack over his left shoulder, nine lines of hieroglyphs identifying the individual (not translated) along with a spell to beckon him to perform tasks in the afterlife. Nice example! Size: 5.5" H (14 cm)
A Thermoluminescence (TL) test has been conducted confirming authenticity. Certificate will accompany.
Provenance: ex-private Portugal collection, acquired at Hotel Drouot, Paris, around 2004
