Reference/Illus: Although not a "Made in Japan" woodblock-- Kristensen is self-trained in Japanese carving/printing techniques, and all of Tom's prints are made using only Japanese papers, pigments, and tools. Here are a few photos Tom sent to us taken inside his studio. Kristensen is clearly a very talented and creative artist/printmaker.

Tom Kristensen (born 1962) is a self-taught Japanese woodblock printer. At a young age he moved from Denmark to Australia and studied biology in college. Kristensen started off collecting Japanese prints, then in 2003, with no professional training he started to print his own. He has utilized the internet for his training, supplies, collecting and selling of his own work.
