This is an early albumen print from about 1870, which shows a humorous painting showing a horse-drawn chariot pulled by mismatched horses and loaded with several generations of an Italian family. The master of the house, wearing a Neapolitan hat, looks at us with a satisfied grin. The photo is captioned "Neapolitan Caryall" in ink on the mount, under the photo.; The photo was published by G. Sommer, and bears his blindstamp in the lower right corner. It's hard to photograph, but it's there!; The print size is 7.25" x 9.5", the mount is 13" x 16" The photo is on excellent condition, and the mount has some discoloration and a few smudges. The card stock has cut, rounded corners.
